For the end of week nine and ten I began editing my film trailer. I used the black and white effect on my film to re-create the 'Sin City' style that I liked. Using my plan from previously I edited my film using Premiere Elements as well as Final Cut Pro. I included a clip from YouTube at the end of my film trailer of New York as I was unable to film this myself but wanted to set the scene for my film and emphasise the action genre.

For week eight and nine I continued filming for my film trailer. I used a range of different shots throughout but focused on the main elements of my film, such as individual shots of the super heroines. As I was in the film trailer myself, I used a tripod when we were all in the shot and the other girls for moving or panning shots. I also used a green screen for some shots as I wanted to change the background and to vary the shots that I wanted to use black and white and colour in.
For my seventh week I continued editing my photos for my poster on photoshop. As I had inidividually edited all the images I then had to put them together to create one poster. As I had got all of my edited photos for the film I started planning the front cover of my magazine, which would feature a seperate poster. I looked at movie magazines such as Total Film Magazine and Empire Magazine to get inspiration for my own movie magazine front cover. I wanted to have my poster as the background for the cover and for it to be the main focus like the other magazines I had researched.
For my sixth week I began planning my poster for the film as I had figured out my theme and characters. I decided to mimick the poster for the film 'The Spirit' and have my four main characters in their own section for my poster. I then chose three other models and myself to pose for individual pictures, which I took in a dark room with spotlights. After getting my particular shots I edited the photos using photoshop to create the visual effect that I wanted.
For my fifth week I started my planning for my film trailer. I needed to decide on my plot, my characters as well as the theme and genre. Basing my ideas on what I had initially researched I decided to have a superhero theme but to make it unique I wanted to use female superheroes. Because of this theme I thought the best genre for it would be action, which would also suit the visual style that I wanted to create for my film trailer. My plot was based on a standard superhero storyline, where there would equilibrium, disequilibrium and then an equilibrium at the end. I decided to have four main characters for the film trailer which would be the super heroines and then the male super villian and to make it unique from other film trailers, I added a twist to the plot. Like I had seen on 'The Spirit' trailer I wanted to make some of my trailer up from images and text, which would be taken from the posters that I would create. As I had figured out my plot, genre and characters I started filming the trailer using both location shots and green screen.
For my fourth week I began researching film magazines as this was another element to my media brief. I primarily looked at magazines opposed to the internet to get primary source covers. I looked at Total Film Magazine to see how they composed their cover. I liked the idea of having my my poster landscape across the page and I also liked the idea of making it the main focus and therefore make it more unique. I wanted to just focus on the film and therefore did not want to include other elements of the magazine for straplines but using one catchy line to promote my film.

For my third week I began researching movie posters as I had to create one for my brief. What I was focusing on was the black and white style with small colour aspects on the lips or clothing to make certain areas stand out. I liked the idea of the 'Sin City' and 'The Spirit' posters as they created posters on individual characters. I preferred this particular 'The Spirit' poster as it had individual chracters from four different posters combined as one. I wanted to use this composition in my own poster to make it appealing and uniue from other film posters but for time efficiency.

I continued my research on 'Sin City', 'The Spirit' and 'Watchmen' and focused on the visual style that they used in their films. I primarily looked at film trailers to see where the visual effects were applied and how i could replicate it for my own project. I preferred 'Sin City' as it reflected the style the best.
